“Through Our Eyes”
Welcome to the PPANE web site! This site is designed to keep you informed of not only PPANE happenings, but also all of the New England states. Be sure to check the links to the individual states as well. To receive the most current PPANE updates, be sure to sign up for the mailing list from our home page.
The New England Institute of Professional Photography (NEIPP) has a new home! We’ll be gathering at the Ocean Edge Resort April 6-11. Unquestionably one of the country’s top photographic schools, NEIPP is also the best educational VALUE you’ll ever find. With today’s ever changing technology and consumer trends, you can’t afford to miss this opportunity to stay on top of the photographic industry. WARNING: you’ll not only swell your brain with fantastic information, you may also swell your waistline too! The food is AWESOME! (Does anyone remember the green jello at the Mont Marie Convent waaaaay back when?)
Mark your calendar for September 13-16. These are the dates for the 107th Annual PPANE Convention. Our Convention Chair, Tom Hurlbut is working on bringing in some of the countries top speakers, as well as planning some fantastic social time. The convention, as well as the awesome banquet, is included with your dues, so be sure to come spend some time with your New England colleagues and friends “from away”.
The theme for this year is “Through Our Eyes”. I would like to challenge each of you to choose your favorite charity and NOT donate money, but donate something a hundred times more valuable – your talent.
I would ask that you create a brochure, slide show, pamphlet – anything to raise awareness for your charity. The public will see the charities through our eyes as professional photographer.
As always, a “side effect” of “giving” is that you always “get” much more in return. By donating your talent, you’ll not only raise awareness for a great cause, but you’ll also raise awareness for professional photography. Let’s face it, with all of the great cameras out there, many amateurs think they no longer need a professional photographer. (I like the analogy that just because you have the best pots and pans, that doesn’t make you a chef!).
My goal is to create a presentation for the convention to show what we accomplished as a group. I’m really looking forward to what we can show the world – Through Our Eyes.
